I have received 2 letters from debt collectors but have never had any dealings with them to my knowledge regarding old debt. They say they wish to wish to confirm my details.I think This relates to A bank loan I had when I lived at my Fathers house. I moved from my fathers house around 12 years ago & have had no contact with the lender & have not made any payments since that time. Does this fall within the Limitation Act and should I contact them. Please advise. also how can I find out if the bank got a county court judgement against me.

Hi,

Depending on what the debt is for then it may well do. As long as you haven't acknowledged it then you should be ok.

What you need to do is write to these agencies, and quote the Statute of Limitations Act 1980 at them. If they persist then you can take it further.

There is a template letter on the Debtwizatd website.
