i'm going to be declaring myself BR in the next couple of weeks,i have rented accomodation lined up and i do not believe i have any assets worth taking except for the house.
so as i don't jeopardise anything is there any particular order that i should be doing things in? it has been suggested to me to go BR a couple of days before we move so as not to blacklist our new address and upset the landlord.any one have any other suggestions?

Hi bluey875
You will have to put your current address on your BR petition and swear before a court official that the details are correct. These are the details that go into the BR notice that goes in the paper etc etc.
If you "moved in" the day/week after you go BR then you just need to notify the OR of your new contact details.
The advantage of having a place sorted before going BR is that it avoids problems with credit checks etc.

Hope this helps

Hi bluey875

Your cars are unlikley to be taken by the OR as they are needed for work and are within the exempt assets limits.
