My mother desperatly needs to declare herself bankrupt she is roughly £40,000 in debt and is a single mother who only works part time. she has just declared her partner as living with her and has lost all her benefits, this situation is making her seriously ill and i dont know how much longer she can carry on. My questions is because of her situation she has no way to save the £500 necessary to declare herself bankrupt are there any organizations that can help cover the cost or anything along those lines, any help you colud provide would be greatly appreciated.

regards

Hi d.s
Apparently there are some utility companies who are providing grants to their customers in order to help out with bankruptcy costs.

Details can be obtained from the CAB

This rarely happens in consumer debt cases. Why would a creditor want to pay another £2,000 or so if there is no hope of them ever being repaid?

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com
