I think it's amazing how they can do that but you have to wonder how it does it?

Can they really search without leaving a trace? I took out Car insurance and paid for a year and I had 3 company's search me who I had never haerd off.

So why aren't they all doing it?

One thing I have noticed with VQ (and maybe I already said this) but they have now removed the payment restrictions from my account so I can go on any time now and pay some or all of it all. I tried on my first month and it wouldn't let me do more than 1 payment. Mind you I have also been £25 in credit and not had my account shut as others have mentioned.

But on the whole, so far so good.

Yes they can - you put your details in and they will immediately get back to you as to whether or not you may be accepted. It does not show up on your account.

I have loads of insurance checks on my file which I know I haven't asked for (been with the same companies for years) but I can't be bothered to contact them.

Well let's put this to the test. It says there is a good chance I would be accepted with a starting limit of 125-1200 so we will see and ill let you know.

Well I gave up after waiting nearly an hour for a decision. I guess I will find out if anything comes through in the post. But as I type this it's still spinning and it started at 23:16 it now says it timed out and my application was not logged)

It does say as once of the conditions

"Not have been made bankrupt in the last six years – including having an Individual Voluntary Arrangement or Debt Relief Order"

In regards to the quick checker it says

"Use our free eligibility checker to see if you’re likely to be accepted. It’s quick and as it only leaves a search footprint on your file – it won’t affect your ability to apply elsewhere."

So never mind.

That's the one I used and it came back straight away with me.

Maybe 11PM was a silly time. probably no point trying again as it will say no due to the BR

On well, vanquis is my savior for the next 4 years.

In fact what I do to ensure I put something on it is use my card to pay for my subs to my credit files - then it's a win win and £22 a month.

I applied for a Barclaycard earlier this year and, despite them being one of my creditors, I was accepted.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010. I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.

haha really?

Interesting :)

Well I have access to all the credit monitoring and they haven't even searched me so hmm, might try again :)

They use Equifax I am told...

Edit:: Oh.. I went to the pre check form and it said.

It seems you’re already a Barclaycard customer

I had best ring them.

Barclaycard were one of my creditors but they've never said that to me.

Just going on what the website says. I just got off the phone to them. The system hadent processed anything. They Declined me.

Never mind. They say it's due to the data they got from the CRA but none of them show a search in the last 24 hours and they get updated every day.

I'll stick with going on hubby's card I think at the moment.

This appeared on my statement this month. It's back at £0 now but I haven't see this before

02 Sep 14 BILLED DEFERRED FINANCE CHARGES £4.97 DR
02 Sep 14 PURCHASE INTEREST £4.19 DR

Google says

This will be due to a transaction appearing on the account the day your bill was produced.

Vanquis have an age old error with their billing system that they're too stupid to fix. Call them on their free number - 0800 781 6314 - explain and they will refund the £1.

Not going to bother but I guess as this is the first time I have let it tick over a full month then it was something i'd not seen before.

Not seen that before - I'd phone them, it may appear on your credit record.
