We receive income support. We owe about £22000 in credit cards and a loan. Everything is in my husbands name but I have a second user halifax credit card of my husbands account. If we go bankrupt will they just freeze my husbands account or mine as well. Ive changed our benefits to be paid into my account but am worried incase they can freeze mine also. I have an x reg clio in my name. Can they take this.

hi sue.s
i am no expert but i think if it is just your husband going br then they can not touch your own account and if the cliois yours they can not have either but even if the car is your oh it would prob not be worth enough for the or to worry about ( under £2500 ) also if you receive i.s. you/your hubby would be entiled to a reduced fee of aprox £345 depending on which court i belive it is slighty more at the high court in london, anyway i should think one of the experts will be along shortly to answer more fully but if you have anymore questions (which i'm sure you will have ) keep posting here and someone who has been thru the same will answer you

Hi sue

Eamonn is right in that the OR would not touch your accounts just because you are an additional card holder on your husbands credit card. They would also not have any claim on your car.
