If a person who is about to be declared bankrupt has a joint bank accounts with a second person, who is not suject to a bankrupcy order. Can the receiver seize that money?
2) How does bankrucy effect, as, electricity, phone bills etc. Can you still pay as normal?

Hi and welcome,
Im not sure about your bank account, but the bills should still be ok as long as you pay them then they usually dont do anything.
If you had a mobile contract that may be closed but that is dependent on the provider.
Its not the OR that cancels all these its the companies themselves so like with the bank it would be down to the bank and not the OR although I think it a different thing when the account is joint and its only 1 person going BR.
Hopefully one of the other members could give u more advice on the bank thing, but i hope i helped a bit.

Hi
yes the money can be seized.
If it can be proven by the non BR person that the funds belong to them alone they may be able to reclaim them.

Best to avoid this by emptying the account prior to BR.
