Okay we have just submitted our forms ready for wednesday and while I wait for them to print I have a question.
Our disposable income is £144 BUT I have included Child Benefit in this of £125, so if that is deducted does that make our Disposable Income £19? Therefore bearing in mind the OR allows everything that we have put down, we should not have an IPA?

Thanks x

Hi DM
As far as im aware I dont think they do. I am waiting to hear about mine as we also wrote down the DLA on ours too. Just waiting to hear about that from the OR.
Best of luck

Sorry Jo, Do you mean that they dont take it into account or that they dont allow you to deduct it?

getting scared now, just read the prison thread, and I'm now realising that I have committed fraud by not making any payments to egg. F***!

Hi DM,
I should have said I dont think they take it into account so hopefully you may not end up paying an IPA obviously that depends on what they allow.
Im not being very clear today with my answers, its cos im hot and trying to multi task. LOL :)
When you say about Egg how long since you got the card and have you maxed out, as you say you have not made a single payment.
John would be better advising on that, but whats done is done, I know my worst was some added to my catalogue in Jan or Feb for clothing this year and obviously using ebay and paying via paypal inorder to make my money go further. We used our food money for those extras on ebay and so lived very modestly for ages.
So its Weds then your date, you will be fine. Try not to panic and remember the 3 copies that you will need.
Take care I hope that i have clarified that bit now about the CB, I asked the same the other day and its seems it should NOT be counted, but my OR is excuse me "But not the sharpest knife in the block" and I think is very new to the job and so I did not get many things sorted from my interview. So i will have to wait and see what they decide.:)

Thanks Jo, It was actually your question about CB that alerted me to this.
Took out Egg card in March. Maxed by April. Stopped paying creditors in May. What do you think?

Hi DM,

John has answered that on the other post, I dont know what to say really, like John has said the OR may not take to kindly to it as you have not paid anything but they may end up and its not for definate that you get a BRU but hey try not to worry, it will come right in the end.

Just be open and honest with the OR and then see what they say, this is one of those questions that no one other than the OR can actually answer until they go through your SoA.

Hey be strong and in 2 days you will be debt free, well almost and then you can live your life again.

If you get a BRU so what its a slapped wrist and I think you know you should not have done that, but it is too late now, just be open and honest.

I dont know if i helped at all, be strong and take it easy "Like a cadbury caramel Bar"

Thats kind of what I thought too. the problem is, is that when you live in a world fo debt and rob Peter to pay paul, NOTHING is pre-meditated. You just cant see next week let alone next month. By the time the card was maxed (on living expenses, nothing else) it was too late and we then realised that we were in deep doo-doo. A few weeks later we found the IVA site and stopped paying creditors, had we known that BR was to be our route back then, we would have tried to pay soemthing whilst we saved the fees.

I will tell the OR all of this, is a BRU decided on your paperwork or on your interview?

Hi DM
the OR would not decide on a BRU without interview.

Thanks John,
Only hope that I have someone who will allow me to explain the above. Nothing pre-meditated about our situation, if only I had the ability to plan then I wouldnt be where I am now!
