i have been advised that my wife was made bankrupt on friday can one apply for an iva or ipa or is she u the creek without a paddle. Please advise

Hi vtt

technically your wife can apply for an IVA whilst in bankruptcy but without full details of her / your situation I can't say if she would qualify.

An IPA is something proposed by the official receiver following bankruptcy if it is deemed affordable. Not something you can apply for and she would remain bankrupt for the first 12 months anyway.

If you have a property with equity and this has come as a shock you need urgent professional advice.
