hello everyone

I think it has come to the point that myself and my wife have to go the BR route. I have seen the forms and am about to fill them in.

Can some one tell me how do I find as to where I need to go to declare BR. I live in London (south East London), and how do I go about dooing this.

Also can I stop my Mortgage payments and Secured Loans when I declare BR or before, as Im not sure how we are going to find rented accomodation with no money. Our house is in negative equity.

Thanks in advance

Hi

if you plan to go BR in a month or two you should stop paying the mortgage, secured loan(s) and payments to any unsecured debt now.

This will allow you to save the funds for the bankruptcy fees (2 x £495) and a deposit and advance payment for a rental property.

As you are in SE London The Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand most likely hold jurisdiction in bankruptcy, which court is determined by your postcode.

I would look up their number and give them a call to confirm. If not there it may be Croydon.
