my company went bankrupt in april this year, not a problem as it was limited, only problem is, when is best time to file for personal br as i know i have too as i owe inland revenue about 50k plus bank secured on my house is about 50k, thats in negative equity now as of credit crunch, i have several credit cards , loans etc totaling some 100k,i would nt be in this mess if company i owned didnt get took by somebody for thousands of pounds, i feel very resentful of that as its cost me everything i owned.

ime in rented house now and am about to send back keys to halifax. i go back to fetch the post and am starting to collect ccj's i just cannot bring myself to br myself though i know i have too. havent paid anyone since march, the phone calls have all stopped now which is nice as they drove me mad, but everyone i owe money to is refering the debts to collection agencies. should i go br asap as all is very quite now, do the ccj;s matter as i will be br so whats the point of them.

Hi Russ,

It's probably a good idea to go BR sooner rather than later. A lot of debt collection agencies are quite ruthless, and it's only a matter of time before the CCJ's start turning into bailiff visits ....not an experience I would recommend!

Hi Julian

Am i right in the fact that a baliff can only turn up at your door if you default on the ccj.

Thanks

Hi Jane,

You are indeed correct. Once a CCJ has been granted, you have 28 days to comply before they can instigate further action.
