I received a copy of the new T&Cs for the Cashminder account, effective 5th December 2008.

Reading through, I noticed that it no longer references "Electron" as the only debit card --- "Terms and Conditions of the Cashminder and Debit (Visa or Electron) card"

In the Card Issue section, it states --- "We will issue you with an electron or debit card (or each of you in the case of a joint account) to use as part of your account, in accordance with these conditions"

Don't get me wrong, I'm dead happy that I've got an Electron, but a full Visa Debit would be great.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I've not been online for a while (computer broke).

Hi Zamfir

Are you going to call the Coop and ask if you can get one instead of the electron card.

If you do, let us know how its goes.

I think I'll wait till I'm discharged first, it's taken me ages to get a firm answer on whether I can use my Electron in Ireland (website says no, literature says yes).

Just posted it there for Skippy, who I believe is already discharged and looking for a full Visa Debit?

hi Zamfir

I have just called the Coop and mentioned about the new terms and conditions and they have assured me that the Visa Debit card is only available to those of us who are discharged.

LOL

I've just called the Co-op and I've got to ring after 5th December.

Thanks for the info Zamfir and Jo - I'd missed that bit!

While I was on the phone to the Co-op they tried to open an ISA for me - guess what, I failed the credit check!

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

I'm going to ring up and see what they say and I'll let you know. I'll be away for the 5th so you'll have to wait with baited breath for a bit longer!!!

No worries Skippy, I remember Lloyds TSB used to (not sure if they still do) issue Visa Debit cards with no cheque guarantee facility.

Yeh let us know when you get round to calling CoOp after 5th Dec.
