 can a Guernsey resident declare UK bankruptcy?		  New Topic  Reply to Topic

Are residents of Guernsey able to utilise solutions from the Insolvency Act '86. I.e. can a Guernsey resident declare UK bankruptcy or enter into an IVA.
If not, what options are available to the channel islands?

Hi

in Guernsey the process is slightly different. Instead of the official receicer you have the Vicount and you use the Royal Courts of Guernsey

Ok, and IVA's?

Where can I find the literature relating to this? Is it available on the internet that anyone is aware of?

I suspect, but haven't checked, that the first place to start would be the Vicount's Office. They will then direct you to an Insolvency Practitioner practicing in Guernsey so you can review the IVA option
