i am now getting moe and more concerned about how easy my OR telephone interview was !!! i know its sound silly to be saying this but im really very concerned that there has to be a catch NOTHING is ever as simple as it seems eh ?

there is that saying IF ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE , THEN IT PROBABLY IS !
well firstly interview for both of us was all wrapped up within 35 mins, he spoke mainly to my hubby, asked what we had used credit cards for and he replied with " general everyday living then " which we said yes too, he asked about car and van that had een sold and as happy about our answers, told hubby he would get a NT code, told me we had NOT claimed enough in our expenses ! he then spoke to me about my job to see if a NT could be done there....which it couldnt,
then said could i go over the causes of our situation with him, then he said thats it thanks, im looking for early discharge in 6 months, when i asked him why he said that it was clear we had always intended to pay our debts and due to our circumstances could no longer do so, and that we had no missed payments until until we decieded we could no longer cope.

he does NOT want ANY bank or credit card statements either !

is this all just too simple, or am i panicking ????

Hi Jo

no your not panicking.

Much closer to paranoia I would say!!! lol.

It looks like you've had an interview with an experienced examiner or one that has been very well trained. All too often there is clearly nothing to be gained by BR's cases being investigated in depth but some jobsworth's do it anyway and get a kick out of the power they possess, or think they do.

You've had what you feel is an easy ride.
I just think you got lucky and had an examiner that is a realist and not power crazy.

Thank the lord and smile I say.

I had the same and never heard from the examiner from the minute I left the interview until my discharge.

Thing is, you took credit in good faith intending to pay it back. Obviously circumstances meant you couldn't but going BR gives you a way forward & a clean slate so you don't get into a similar mess again. That is what it is meant for. I think where they come down hard is where they think people may be abusing the system or borrowed without attepmting to pay back.

Hi Jo,

I SO understand where you are coming from. I'm sure the regulars on here roll their eyes at me all the time for my paranoia!

Mine and my Ex's is just too good to be true. Get this.

1. Judge was delightful, Phew!
2. No OR interview needed
3. Car and all possessions exempt
4. Offered home for £1, (still waiting to do this)
5. No IPA for either of us
6. No NIL tax code for either of us, even though we are straightforward PAYE employees for large companies.
7. ED offered at just 15 weeks, still waiting to hear (5 weeks in of an approx 8 week wait).
8. Have never provided a single bank/cc/loan statement.

A good friend said this to me (luckily for her she is a good friend!)
"Talk about falling in sh1t and coming up smelling of roses"

What she will never understand though, is the sheer stress, tears and worry that I have lived through. Prior to BR I was a walking wreck and now just waiting for ED is killing me. I am waiting for something to go horribly wrong.

I just want this to all be over so that I can put it behind me and feel better equiped to help others. I've now been without credit for 10 months, which is huge for me. Still never want it again, but would like a decent car at some point!

hi TD, i just want to echo that, im sure that some of my friends and family think we have been perhaps too lucky and its not been a punishment, BUT because we are " stick a brave face on " type of couple, i think no-one tryly saw the months of stress and tears leading up to the BR, and also lets not forhet we have also given our home back and our lovely car, soooooooooo it really hasnt been as plain sailing as some may think !

however NO REGRETS, we know that we had made the right choice and yes its great learning to live without the EVIL CREDIT too,

onward and upward !!!

Thing is TD, by actually saving for a decent car & being a cash purchaser you may well bag a bargain!!!

Hi all,

The key here is that if the Insolvency Service decide to do the interview by telephone, it means that they have assessed your case and believe it to be very simple and straightforward .... more of an administrative excercise. Don't panic, it'll be over before you know it!
