hi all,

Just wondered if anyone knew how the OR would react towards a holiday whist still BR as we have been planning a foreign holiday for some time now but may not be discharged when we actually go ??

Hi

that's fine Michelle.
If the holiday is about to happen and you have not been discharged just inform the OR of the dates.
If asked the holiday has been funded by a 3rd party.

My partner took me on holiday when I was still BR and I didn't even think to inform the OR.

I see no reason why the OR should be informed if you go on holiday when bankrupt. What are they going to do, follow you around everywhere or put a tagging system on all bankrupts to make sure they are not enjoying themselves too much.

The same applies if undischarged bankrupts went out to the cinema a meal or to the pub for a night out, who's paying for this?

Although I would not expect undischarged bankrupts to be going on a cruise or out every night to expensive restaurants, but we have to have a life and have some pleasure, after it doesn't have to cost a lot. Not that i'm suggesting it but you can a have SUN holiday for £9.50.

If someone else is paying for you to enjoy yourself by going on holiday or having a night out, then what has it got to do with the OR.

I agree Debtrider. My partner wasn't BR, just me, so he took me on holiday and he has taken me out for meals, which is his choice.
