Well that was alot easier than I thought.

Thanks to all for your help and especially to John for the proceedings at the high court which i did not get to read until now.

If I did I would not of turned up at 9am.....as I did have an hour wait for the fees office to open. But never mind, when I arrived at the Thomas More building the staff there were very helpful and that was it till 2:30pm. I must say that was a long wait though, but like John said, no need to see a judge, and at 2:35 the lady came down from upstairs, mine was the first name, and that was it BANKRUPT....such a releif. This is a new start....lets hope I finally get a good nights sleep now.

Thanks again to all for your help.

I wish I knew of sites like these before, I should have gone bankrupt over 2 years ago but didn't have a clue and the stigma attached to bankruptcy had put me off.

Well done tb842 and good luck.

I went BR in the High Court, too. I expect the most difficult part was finding your way around the buildings, what with all the corridors and ins and outs, eh?!

Its quite humbling to arrive in Street's magnificent Great Hall there and probably better to go there for a bankruptcy than a multi million pound divorce loss or libel loss!

Hi trish37

You do have to make an appointment and you may have to wait a while, so I should book it now.

Hi Trish,

Not for the High court, you dont need an appointment.

I arrived at 9am when the gates opened. I was an hour early for the fees office to open, so you dont need to get there that early. Once you go through the airport security, I told the lady at the reception desk that I was going bankrupt and she passed me directions to the fees office and the thomas more building. The worst thing was the waiting, like I said I waited an hour for the fees office. Then when I went to the Thomas More building had my petition checked and sworn on the bible had to wait till 2:30pm for the outcome. 3 hours walking the streets, but it was worth it as at 14:35 the lady came into the waiting room and called out my name and that was it I am bankrupt.....no judge at all.

I hope that helps.

Hi TB842,

That's a weight off my mind so I can just walk in, I should have the money by 25th March and need to do it befor Tax year ends as do not want a nil tax code so I can avoid questions at work.

I am glad it all went well for you 5 more weeks for me

Thanks,
Trish
