hi all just hopeing for some advise , i went bankrupt in october 08, i havent got a bank acount yet as barcleys messed my application up then refused me because im bankrupt apperently there sympathetic to people who gone bankrupt , they told me it could be to do with how much debt i took down with me , i was 20 grand in debt i no someone who went down with 45 and they gave him a acount so my question is , is there any banks who will take me as i dont no where to go next thanks for any help cheers cameron.

Wife and i opened co-op cash minder accounts this was prior to bankruptcy though.

the co-op seems to be a popular choice on here.

Hi Cam, the Co-op is probably the most BR friendly bank out there. You can apply for the Cashminder in a branch or on the phone, but not online. You must be on the electoral roll, otherwise they won't open an account.

Regarding Barclays, they are the other BR friendly bank. Did you apply for their basic cash card account? Did you have any debts with Barclaycard?
