Just took a big step and applied for bankrupcy, Allthough dont get to see the judge untill 1st April :( My question is, is there anything I can do to stop bailiffs coming? I am sure sombody told me I can get a order at my local court which would stop them for around a month or so. I did aks this while on the phone but the person who probably knew was not in. Does anybody know? Just glad to have started the ball rolling but still worrying.
Well done on making the decision and booking the appointment. If you have had any letters from creditors threatening action - give them a ring and inform them of your bankruptcy hearing date this will usually halt any kind of action

bailiffs are instructed by the court and cannot be instructed to act by the creditor.
The creditor will need to have successfully applied for a CCJ against you before a bailiff becomes involved.
Unless you already have a CCJ there is a very good chance that, with 7 weeks to go before bankruptcy, it won't happen. If a creditor has applied to the court for a judgement against you, you will have been notified in advance.
