Hi all,

Please could you help, what do i take to my soon to be bankruptcy hearing is it just the two forms i received to fill in (3 copies) plus the fee or do i need to take anything else such as bank/credit card statements proof of income self employed tax returns etc etc. I understand the OR will need to see these at a later stage but what about the initial bankruptcy date. These forms seem really complicated to me and i simply cant afford the extra for help filling them in its all really getting me down now cant sleep etc etc, but i suppose lots of you have been there right ?

Thanks
Dont know how i would cope without this forum

Hi

you just need the 3 copies of the SoA (6.28) and 1 copy of the debtor's petition (6.27) plus your fee.

thanks John,

I will of course try to the best of my ability to fill things out correctly but do they allow a little leeway as i am not sure exactly on all the questions.

Thanks

Hi

in respect of sums owed and dates etc it is perfectly ok if you are only able to give an approximation.

As long as the basic facts regarding your circumstances are available to the OR the rest he can ask at interview. It really is not a test.
The OR examiners will know all of the right questions to ask in order to build a full picture of your circumstance and how you got there, and the best way to do that is to work with you, not against you and in the vast majority of cases that is exactly what happens.

In my case I spent 3 hours with the OR and after 5 minutes (we're all on edge at first) it felt no different than if i had been sat there in my own home giving the details to my favourite aunt.
