Hi I am presently trying to clear up my credit file following my discharge from bankruptcy in April 2005.
i am in the process of writing to a couple of companies to ask them to mark debts as satisfied as this has not been done.
However i have been informed by the credit agenices that there is a satisifed judgement on my account from the county court but the date is showing as August 2006
I visited the county court today and was told that was when they were notified of satisfaction and the date could not be changed
so this will now stay on my credit file till 2012

Is this correct?

Thanks

Im in a similar situation. I was discharged in may 2006 yet on my file I still have 9 different default notices which should not be there. I am just trying to find out the procedure to get them to update them. At the moment my credit file is incorrect, it shows there are balances outstanding, so if yours is the same then it should be corrected. I just need to know the procedure really.

there may be a slightly different procedure for each of the credit reference agencies.

I suspect that the best first step is to contact each of them and ask them how you should go about this under their procedures
