Hi
I made myself bankrupt in June 2005, I was discharged in April 2006. I have a nationwide current account which is just a cash card. I was told that after 2-3 years I would be able to upgrade, I apply every 6 months and get nowhere. I always have at least £2000 in the account and have never had a bounced direct debit.

After the last time I applied to upgrade was rejected, I requested my credit file.

On it there are 9 companies which still have an outstanding balance for me and showing as a defeault notice. So this is the problem, finally know what is up.

But how do I go about changing it?

I do not have any records of the accounts such as account numbers or anything and I do not even have copies of my bankruptcy documents either. I can probably easily get copies of those but how on earth am I going to know the account numbers of accounts years old? I never once missed any payments and never defaulted on any loans, It just came to a point when it was too much so I had to declare myself bankrupt, the people in the court said it was very rare for someone to be bankrupt yet never miss one single payment!

Anyway so I now have these 9 things on my file which say default notice, experian say default notices automatically disappear 6 years after the entry date, but for some of them it will be 2011 or 2012! Even though the bankruptcy will go off the file in 2011.

Most companies have updated the records correctly but some have not. Some even have updated records for one account showing as "settled" but another account with the same company says "default".

The main thing is I need to be able to get them updated to show as settled like all the others, how would I go about doing this? I have been self employed for a number of years (actually since the bankruptcy) and I probably could do with a business bank account too.

I do not want any form of credit, all I want is a debit card and somewhere to put money. There is no way on earth that I would ever want a loan or credit card again.

Thanks

I just spoke to someone and I need to write to each company. Quite annoying really considering it is their mistake and the bankrupty is plain to see on the file. Oh well life goes on. If I have to Ill wait until 2011 until it is auto resolved.
