my grandma is ill in hospital. what happens in respect of the o/r if i'm an undischarged bankrupt in an ipa and she leaves me some money, but somebody in the family contests the will and i end up with nothing?
if it were successfully contested then you, and therefore the OR, would end up with nothing.
You are legally bound to notify the OR if the worst were to happen before discharge.
If your inheritance were of a reasonable level you may find an ally with the OR who will consider fighting the case in court if it is contested on the basis that if you defend successfully the proceeds will vest in him.
