My best friends ex-spouse is filling bankruptcy on charges that she is paying him for that she put on the credit card befor it was cancled, if the bankruptcy goes through dose she have to continue paying him for these charges, even though he is no longer responable for them he said she does and has filed a law suit aginst her. the credit card was never in her name she was just an otherized user.

She won't pay HIM the charges, just any loans or cards that were taken out as joint loans willl become her sole responsibility when he goes bankrupt. Would be best for her not to pay another penny until she knows for certain what the situation is.

Hi

as RHB has said it may be best to stop payments now and see what comes of her ex's bankruptcy investigation. If she was a joint account holder with her own card she would have to have signed the original credit agreement and if she did the whole debt will soon fall to her including any monies he spent from the account.

If she has signed nothing she would be an additional card holder on his account and is therefore not liable for any repayments irrespective of her ex declaring bankruptcy or not.
