Hi. I was made bankrupt 2 years ago. My salary is paid into a Alliance & Leicester savings account. Our new payroll system cannot now pay my salary into this account, as it can only pay into current accounts. All my current account applications so far get rejected when I say I am bankrupt. Is there a solution ?

The Co-op basic account will allow you to have your salary paid into it and it is BR friendly. Give them a ring and explain the issue and they should be ok.

Hi

Are you sure you are still bankrupt? Unless you had a bankruptcy restriction order put in place you have probably been automatically discharged at a year.

Hi as mentioned the COOP allow you to have a cashminder account. You get a Visa Electron Debit Card. Barclays do a basic account and there is an online bank called Thinkbanking that allow bankrupts but charge £12 per month
