Hi All,

Havent been on for quite a while but just got a notice through today saying that we were discharged early on 15th April-RESULT!!!!.

I had a ISA with nationwide that had £3K in it( not enough even to make a small dent in what we owed). I put it on SOA and talked several times to the OR about it, but had a letter from Nationwide about the interest etc. This is due to mature in July. It is still listed as my ISA.
Question----- Do you think its still mine as i am now discharged. I am trying to work out what to do in July.

Thanks

Well done on the early discharge.

Not sure about your ISA though - one of the experts will be able to answer that.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

Hi Tracy

Sorry but this money isn't yours. The OR has probably delayed getting the account realised if they were pursuing a BRU, but if you have been discharged then it will likely to be done shortly.

Thanks, it was a nice little dream though! Does being discharged mean i wont get a BRU. It was only mentioned at the first interview then nothing since then. The OR said it was because i brought a new vacum cleaner and a bed with money that i should have offered my creditors.

I cannot believe you were told you would get a BRU for that, they are essential household items! I bought a 3 piece suite, rugs and kitchen items just before we went bankrupt as we were moving house and needed them, I bought them on credit and the OR never even asked me about them!

Hi Jane,

Yes i spent approx £1000 on bed, hoover and kids school clothes and winter coats each. I was amazed when they first mentioned a BRU but quite honestly i didnt really care by then! Never heard anything since about it, i think it was just a bit of a telling off as it were and them trying to make me feel even worse.

Take care
