Hi, I was a former resident in the UK but I now live in Australia. Unfortunately when I left England in March, I was unable to pay off my debts which amounted to roughly £10,000. Am I able to declare myself bankrupt in England and will that affect my credit scoring in Australia?

You can petition and be declared BR on the same day by completing the SOA and paying the £522 BE fee, - Using a company, such as Revivia UK, who post on this board, to petition for you. This will take a bit of time and they will charge for this service however they are highly regarded on this board.
It shouldn't affect your credit rating in Oz as I doubt the companies there will check your rating with the UK credit check companies.
