I need to get public liability insurance,
But so far every one I have applied for has exclusions for anyone who has become insolvent,or BR.
it is so fraustrating.
I have been asked to price for a job that will get be back on my feet in a big way, but the stumbling block is the insurance.
does anyone know of any BR friendly insurance companies,

Hope some one can help

I am sole trader as well, and having the same problems, including insurance for tools, one company did say to try again after discharge. I am sure I have read on one of the posts the co-op do one, but as yet I have not applied myself. Hope this helps, and let us know how you get on.
Best Regards
Richard

Hi Richard N
I have just had a call from an Insurance broker,
He looked into it for me, at first he thought that the insurance would be higher than normal, But apparantly The Financal Services Authority FSA which goven the industry that we are not allowed insurance, and apparently it is all insurances, including Cars etc,
So there must be alot of people around driving illegaly because they have not declared there BR.
Weather this is right or not I do not know,
his company was the only one prepared to try and find something for me,
I hope his info was incorrect.

All the best

Leakie.

Just renewed insurance for the van, and because it was over £500 doing it monthly I told them I was BR. That was ok, but when offered tool insurance I then got refused, and told to try in a few months time.
When you think about it....bankrupts are a safe bet....we are not going to go bankrupt whilst we are bankrupt, so I dont see why they have a problem. The only difference between me and them is that I TOOK MONEY AND COULD NOT PAY IT BACK...THEY TAKE MONEY AND WHEN THE TIME COMES DONT WANT TO PAY IT BACK. Funny old world.

We could do with an expert to put some light on this one, but if you do find a company please let us know.
Best Regards
Richard
