Hello yet again...
Just hoping if anybody knows if NHS Student Bursary is taken into account as income? We are planning to go BR around July-August time and I would be starting a diploma course in Nursing and with it you get a non-repayable bursary which can range from 500 to 800 a month obviously to cover expenses like books, uniforms, hospital duties, etc.
Thanks again for any insight.

Hi
this is income, however I assume you have outgoings too which will offset this such as travel, accomodation, food etc etc etc

Thank you Paul...
I havent applied for it yet and dont know exactly how much I would be getting but should I include my possible expenses in the I&E or I can revise it afterwards and just stick to what we are spending now?

Your I&E should only include the income/expenses that you have at the moment. Once this changes and you receive the Bursary then you can contact the OR and advise of the income. They will send you a new I&E to complete and you can include the addition expenses (books, uniform, etc.) that you will have. |

Thank you for your reply... as I am now working out our Income and Expenses... It turns out that our expenses is still more than our income. What should I do? Also, if our income goes up when I receive the bursary will the OR allow for expenses to go up as well? Hope somebody can help. |

Hi you should put on your SoA what the facts are now, and put in in your reasons for Bankruptcy details about your pending studies and the possible amount of bursary you will recieve also put the details of the website, etc and also how you feel your outgoings are going to change.
Best of luck with your studies and hope it goes well, I too did the nursing diploma and got a bursary, its an interesting, exciting but difficult course too.
Best of luck

Hello everyone and my sincerest gratitude to all the replies... I really dont know what id do without the help of this forum...
Stu, I'm really looking forward to doing this diploma course. Are you practising at the moment? Im just glad Im given this opportunity to start again... To be honest, I want a clean start to our life... new career, debt free and worry free life and be able to save up for my daughter's future... I think this is the way forward for me and my husband so with enough courage hopefully we'd have a clean start.
gettingoutofdebt, just want to say thanks.. and ive manage to write down our I and E and will post it in a new thread.. hopefully people can give insights bout it.
Paul or anybody, just a few more question, if am not going through the Bankruptcy route and just DRO, what are the repurcusions of getting NHS Bursary as I believe the OR can undo the DRO when you have money coming in? Thanks again.
