Hi, i dont know where to start but my wife and i are in a right state, we have just incurred over £40k of costs after a shambles of a trial over a small boundary dispute. We struggled before this but always just about managed to pay our way. We dont want to lose our home, we have very little equity, I am disabled and had to reduce my hours at work recently on health grounds. We have 2 very young children. We dont know where to turn and the stress of it all is too much. Will we lose our home if bankruptcy was our only option. Please help.
It's important that you speak to someone regarding this issue. If you do end up declaring BR then the OR can take any equity in your property to pay the creditors.
You should get some professional advice from either the CCCS, CAB or National Debtline. The other option is to contact the following companies who post on this board and are highly respected. They offer free advice and will only charge if you want their assistance in completing the BR forms or even accompanying you to court on the day:
I found out we have abt 6k equity and we have abt 80k debt now between me and my wife. My wife has a car on HP which she needs for work, her employee insists on this and i have a car via DLA due to my disability, would we lose both cars? if we did then we both could not get to work, i am just so confused and worried sick that we could lose everything.
