I mentioned NIL tax code and OR thanked me and said he had missed that bit . He also said that he or anyone else in the office know why there is such a thing but still have to do it

You should have one Hallway if you are employed. You need to phone up and ask about it.

Hi Hallway123, my OR office phoned me about half an hour after the telephone interview to say about the Nil code. He told me to ring him as soon as my wage slip shows Nil which hasnt happened yet. I have had to send in my last three salary slips and then each month hereonafter. Sure it will be on June's salary. Like the others have said, I should ring them.

Hi Nicky35, I think I have to send in slips every month because I work in the care industry and I get on call payments which can vary from month to month, albeit by only small amounts. I think that maybe why. Not sure. Just got my IPA sorted with Moonbeaver for my 36 payments and am waiting to hear about my tax. I said in a previous post, many months ago, that I reckon we should have claimed for our postage on our SOA as I seem to be sending things left, right and centre.

| I told her about my drop in hours and that it wouldn't show up properly until end July, she said just send wageslips in in July, so maybe their waiting for that.I hope so because I would have only be paying half the tax that I put down on SOA.Do they work it out a ongoing ammount and not on what you put on SOA,hope so. |

| Just found letter I think I should have sent off, giving permission for OR to have access to my tax details, don't know how I missed it,no one mentioned it even though they had received the rest of my stuff.Should I contact them and send it off, or wait for them to contact me about it.It would be better for me if they started nil taX CODE end of July when drop in wages and tax shows, so I don't end up payin more than I would of in tax.I don't want to get in trouble,it really was a genuine mistake. |

I would phone them and ask. It's better to err on the side of caution and may well be too late to do anything about June's pay anyway.

Hi Hallway123. I would ring the OR office about the letter, they will ask you to send it in. I don't think we can have any influence on when the nil tax code is applied, it is once the OR has contacted them I think. I am still waiting for my nil tax code but they have already worked out my IPA for Inc/Exp but not the tax IPA as they are waiting for the nil code status.
