i lost my job and had to take a new one which is half the wages my iva is in the process of failing because of this, if i go for bankruptcy do they take my partners earnings into account?

Yes and no...

The OR cannot take any of her money to pay your debts. However they will expect her to pay a fair share (based upon your incomes) of the joint outgoings (rent, bills, food etc). For instance if you each earn half the income they will expect her to pay half the outgoings etc

Have you spoken to your IP at all regarding the new job?

How long have you been in your IVA?
