There is no time frame - you can open a new account as and when you wish, providing the new account is not linked to any of your creditors. (Co-op Cashminder account is very bankruptcy friendly) Open a new account and transfer salary details and DD's for utilities etc When completing the forms for bankruptcy you do not need to list the new account, that way you eliminate the risk of having the account temporarily frozen. You just inform the OR at the appointment that you have openend a new account and provide them the details
If the account was listed in error on the forms the worse thing that would happen is the OR would freeze the account, it would get unfrozen but this can take up to 5 working days

I agree with Melanie and can vouch for the Co-op Cashminder account as a BR - plus my wife (who is not BR) also has one as it suits her at the moment - In the city where I live almost all of the BR cases have ended up opening accounts there!! (A member of staff told me that when I went to open mine in May). I think she may have been trying to put me at ease...
They are very efficient and very BR friendly - no stigma - good luck, Richard
