About to give my Bankruptcy forms next week, as am not working i dont i'll get a IPA but maybe a BRU for a few years. Just wanted to know, as i tend to do mostly temping work via agencys where its either for 1 day or a few weeks, would this mean that at a later stage during the 1 year of bankruptcy that they can put me on a IPA if am working and this for the next 3 years ?
Or is it a case of them ramdomly during a IE review during the year and then they decide to IPA me?
Or maybe its only when they are looking to early discharge me that they look into into the IE, in which case i'd rather carry on with the 1 year discharge and get auto discharged. |

If your bankruptcy is a straightforward one, then there is no reason why you should get a BRU. If you're not working then you won't get an IPA.
Only if your DI goes above £100 will you be expected to pay anything.
If you have not been given an IPA, then once you are discharged they cannot give one.

Kallis,
I owe £50,000 on credit cards loans. i havnt worked in 18 months and still used credit to get by but only now realised i cant pay it back so perhaps the OR might think it was reckless spending.
Also to my earlier question, as am not working, i wont get a IPA but if after say 5-6 months i get a job will they then decide to put me on a IPA or if they say no IPA in the begining when i petition then thats final? maybe i'd be better off staying unemployed till discharged.

You are in no worse a state than a lot of posters. I would doubt that you would get a BRU - as long as you are honest.
It doesn't matter that you are not working, or haven't worked. If you get a job, then you have to inform the OR of this, and you may get an IPA, dependent upon how much DI you have.
As far as I am aware you can have an IPA at any time until you are discharged.

| I don't think getting a job should be decided against just because you may have to pay into an IPA. You will have more money in your pocket ultimately & if you are on a lowish wage you won't get an IPA. And if you do it will be a smaller amount than you would have been paying monthly on your debts. |
