My ex husband has told me his business (sole trader) is now bankrupt. He told me that he cannot take a wage or have a bank account for 1 year. Is that true? I think it is so the CSA cannot see anything. Thank you.

I am not 100% sure about business bankruptcies but I can't see there being a reason for not allowing your ex a bank account or taking a wage if he is still running the business. How is he paying for his food/rents, etc. if he isn't taking a wage? Is he on benefits?

I know that traders can carry on trading provided they trade under the same name. The OR does have control over his finances but will exclude any CSA payments from his income if he needs to pay an Income Payment Agreement.

Have a look at the Insolvency Register (http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/) and it will show the details of his Official Receiver. You could always contact them if he is trying to dodge CSA payments and advise the CSA of the OR details as well.

ask him if his business was limited or not, and if it is in administration or liquidation
