I've stopped paying all my outgoings (except for the essentials) incluing my ccj's. However I have just ha one referre back to the court for enforcement an I am starting to panic. I know I must get use to keeping all the windows and doors shut and not to answer the door etc. But I read on the direct.gov. website that they can ake your car and also it says they cannot enter on their first visit, does this mean they can force entry on their second visit.
I am trying to save as much as possible before moving and going bankrupt but is it easier to just go bankrupt now or should I wait?
Also I have missed about 4 payments to mortgage company and they havn't even sent a reminder letter? Although as you previously warned Picture financial are dogging us, they have rang my other half twice in work but he's refused to speak to them so I am thinking they will probably get the repossession ball rolling first.
Any advice is much appreciated. |

| If you have CCJs pending court enforcement and you already have the fees then it may be worth declaring BR now but this depends upon the situation with your house. You probably have at least a couple of months before the mortgage company start the repossession process but do you have enough to rent a new place? When were you planning to declare BR? |

I wasn't going to declare br until we moved but on advice from people on here I stopped paying my ccj's to save every bit I could but I now fear this was not the best thing to do as now I will have to probably avoid the bailiffs until we move. I wanted to stay here as long as we could to save as much as we could.
This is why i am concerned as to whether its just a case of avoiding the bailiffs or can they enter by force after the first visit and will they be able to find out I own a car? even though its not worth much.
What can the and can't the bailiffs do?

If you let a bailiff in your house on the first visit, then thereafter, they can come on subsequent visits and gain access, for this reason, keep all windows and doors locked at all times,
if someone knocks on your door, check out of the window who it is before you answer, if necessary talk to them through the door, do NOT open it. Do not fall for any sob stories either that they might tell you, about needing the loo, needing to use your phone, etc, they will try every trick in the book to get in and once in, you are stumped!
I did this for 7 months before bankruptcy and got 2 CCJs awarded but I never answered the door unless I knew who it was and all windows were kept shut and locked
If you have a car, park it somewere else, I had mine parked on the drive but seeing as it was on HP and not mine, the bailiffs could not touch it |

Thanks Jane.
I alsready have ccj's and it's because i stopped paying these that i anticipate the court bailiffs coming around. Would the same apply and just avoid them?
