hi and welcome, best to outline on here your exact debts and arrears so people can give accurate advice. most arrears can be included iin Bsnkruptcy but obviously your rent arrears may mean you have to move if you are not in social housing. have you had any advice regarding your debts? |

im sorry but your last post is confusing, any debts you put on your forms will be includedin your Br except for a limited few (student loan, csa arrears, court fines)if you dont know what you owe than you need to put a rough figure and the Or can find this out. but u need to know who you owe money to. when you say years ago how do you know you still owe money. how much do you owe in total? (if you dont want to post on here that is fine) have you had any expert advice re your debts? |

ok, i see. try not to worry...ideally if you can remember who you owe money to then you just list them down if you dont recall the amount its no real issue (when you go br an ad is placed in the london gazette and anyone whom you owe money to can contact the OR and tell them you have outstanding debts with them.
have you done a free credit check with experian as this may list some of your outstanding debts
sorry to hear you have had such a bad time, i had 50k worth of debts and two kids. it was tough going BR but my life is so different now and my kids actually have a better life now.
if you click on the 'contact an expert' link and send a message outlining youe circs they may be able to offer good advice alternatively contact Melanie N who is an insolvency guru and she will be able to discuss things with you (free) find her contact dets by putting melanie n in the search box. she helped me out no end.

Hi again,
Not sure what your position is with your home. It appears you renting and not an owner at present. Are there arrears with your rent and if so how much?
How much is the monthly rent? Have you contacted your landlord and do you have any dependent family?
Sorry that is a lot of questions - happy to assist with a possible way forward on the accommodation side - that is my area of knowledge. I am sure others will assist more generally on debt and the way to go.
Good luck, Richard

I think you need to visit your local CAB office. I also think you need to list all your outgoings & see where your money is going because once you are BR you really will only be able to spend the money you have coming in & will be expected to pay this years council tax etc. I think you can write to Experian & send a cheque to get your credit report. |

Although the BR process can seem very daunting don't make the mistake of ignoring your financial problems as they will only get worse. From what you have said so far BR is probably not the right option however I would strongly advise you to contact the CAB sooner rather than later. At the moment you may have several options open to you but the deeper in debt you get the fewer the options. |

Amiee, it will make you feel a lot owrse if bankruptcy is forced on you or your landlord evicts you from your flat. As you say, you are getting your life together & your son is happy, you need to be strong to make sure this continues & you need to take control. First thing on Monday morning, ring CAB I promise that once all your financial mess is cleared up you will feel 100% better. |
