how old do your debts have to be to include them in BR. I have lots overtime at my employment so can only afford to pay my priority bills and have tried in vain for months to save the BR fees but i seem to be getting nowhere.

nearly all unsecured debts of any age are inclusive in BR (not student loans TV licence arrears CSA or court fines) but if you know you are going to go BR then if you take out new credit to pay your fees now you will likely upset the OR and may get a BRO extending the restrictions of BR after discharge
have you tried applying to utility companies for BR fees assistance they do help some people.
If you can, stop paying all but essential bills now ie. rent/mortgage, and use that money to pay the fees. That is what is normally recommended

Hi kaz

welcome to the forum.

i do not know all of your circumstances but BR is not the only option, whilst you are still just keeping head above water and gasping for air, you may find that other options are available ?

before you take the BR or any other option send an email to one of the experts outlinning all of your circumstances, they may with their experience be able to offer alternate solutions

good luck Rich

I havwe 26k and i do not have much disposable income after my essential bills have been paid. I have looked into the other options and it would be 19 years i think it was worked out at to apy them off. Also i am hoping to go to university in march so income would drop again. Would the OR take this into consideration or just re review the situation when i start uni?
