I am considering bankruptcy. I am divorced with 3 children have now moved in with a new partner and am still owing £17000 I have no assets other than my car £700 can I file for bankruptcy?
yes if you cannot pay your debts and your debts outweigh your assets.
the only thing that may slow you down is i note that you have moved in with new partner, you have to declare your self bankrupt at the court in the centre of main interest, so if you have moved to a new court area it will be another 3 - 4 months befoer you can declare BR.
before you take the plunge and opt for BR, run your scenario through with an expert, if you are working or likely to be working in the near future you may be able to avoid bankruptcy.
I used Paul and his team at reviva they really helped me through the whole process including checking that other options were not available to me
I am considering bankruptcy.
