I went Br on 20th July and had my OR interview yesterday and all seemed to go o.k!

Today I received a letter from Halifax bank informing me that they had heard of my br from the London Gazette and were freezing and subsequently closing this account once they had heard from the OR.

I had totally forgotten about this account. It is a joint account with my husband and he is actually the sole user of the account. His JSA and Tax credits are paid into there and he has both bank cards for the account. It is a 'cash account'. Obviously he is stuck now as he can't access any money.

I will contact the OR on Monday and explain. Do you think this is going to be a big problem? It was a genuine oversight on my part as I always just think of this as hubby's account and had forgotten my name was on it. We don't owe Halifax any money.

Panicking that the OR will think I was deceitful but this was a genuine error. Basically just need the funds from the account released then the account can be closed.

Any advice gratefully received.

Went Br 20th July 2010...Just the OR to face now then countdown for 1 year...Or interview 30th July.

Please don't worry about it. I forgot to declare a credit card and when I phoned the OR it wasn't a problem x

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
