My partner is thinking about giong BR i do not work and we have seperate bank accounts will the child tax credit and child benefit be taken into account if he goes BR as they are paid directly to me?

Hi Gemma

his affairs should be seperate from yours however on the BR petition, it ask the question joint family income and the contribution that you make to the household budget.

you do not have to declare your income just what you contribute to the family pot

it is complex trying to go through the income and expenditure via email but take some time now listing everything that you speand as a family, petrol, clothing, rent etc

this will help when completing the I & E it may also help with getting your partner back on his feet
