Hi, i was declared bankrupt back in 2009, and last week recieved a letter from a debt collection company trying to recover a debt from a water company for a house i rented back in 2005. I was led to believe that all my debts were ended once i went bankrupt, but the debt collection company insist that this is not the case and are demanding payment because i didnt include the debt on my bankruptcy petition( i didnt include it, because i knew nothing about it). Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Hi. I`ve been led to believe, that all debt accumulated before your bankruptcy, is included. I had HMRC chase me for a late VAT payment fine, which was not on my SOA...it was still included.

Pass the details to your OR.

Like i said..i can`t be 100% regarding untility bills, as i know that there are different rules for student loans, and council tax, e.t.c.

This will be towards the top of the list, and hopefully an expert will clafify.
