Hi Julie08,

Whilst it is in the Banker's Code that everyone is entitled to a bank account, not all banks will give accounts to those who have just been discharged. The most popular and BR-friendly account at present appears to be the Co-Op Cashminder.

Hi there

I have opened my Coop cashminder prior to BR and do not intend to use it until after. However i made them aware i was going BR and they said this was not a problem. They are very quick to open the accounts and send details and card out.

Hope this helps

The weights are coming off my shoulders very slowly, but making such a big diference !!

I totally agree, since finding this site, learning about the Coop Cashminder account i have been able to use my electron card in 99% of places including online, i have access online to the account and have been very impressed with their service.

"Thumbs up" to the Coop.
