well i keep getting letters about one debt that was encluded in my bankruptcy, first from wescot and now iQor both times i have phoned each firm and told them all my info about me going bankrupt how do i stop this from happening? and do these firms buy the debt?
It's best just to ignore the letters as they will stop after a while. It took almost 3 weeks after I was BR for the letters to stop even though I phoned the collection agencies and gave them the BR details as the letters are sent out automatically every few days.
The agencies do buy the debt but no-one seems to know the exact amount. I have heard that they buy the debt for less than 10p in the pound but I don't know if that is true or not.
If you haven't had the ORs interview yet mention the agency during the interview and then the OR will contact them.
i went bankrupt aug last year and its just this one debt that i keep getting letters for i have rang iQor and told them my bankruptcy info and the bloke who i spoke to was quite rude and he reckons they dont buy the debt, likely story!
