Depending where you declare BR you may not even see the judge. If you do all he will ask is whether you are sure you want to declare BR and there is no other way out of the situation, whether you have sought professional advice and whether you understand the consequences.

You mention "ok so i've decided next week is the week of my BR", have you contacted the court to book an appointment? Unless you are petitioning at the High Court, London you normally need to make an appointment.

Hi

I had to see the judge, they said it was because I was 26, She asked was I fully aware of the risks of bankruptcy, the future implications and have I sought advice, of all I answered yes, then she just confirmed the time and signed the form.

hi there

i had to see the judge and my bum didnt even touch the seat. she asked me if i had sought professional advice, if i knew whether it effected my job or not as i am a social worker and whether i knew the consequences. I answered and she said she would declare me bankrupt!!

And that was that...done!

And some courts have a bit of a backlog as well, so you may not get an appointment straight away.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

Kingston had a walk in system when I went BR so I didn't have to make an appointment, although it was first come first served and they only saw 4 people a day.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.
