I have jut read a post regarding NIL tax code. Someone was going BR in Feb so their employer would not find out. IS this correct?? I really don't want my employer to find out. There is nothing in my contact of employment that stops me from delcaring BR, but would rather they din't know. How can I avoid this?
Thank you

I think that if you go BR February/March time, then you won't get a nil tax code as the IR doesn't have time to sort one out.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

it is one of the reasons for the increased number of BRs at the start of the year ....very little chance of a NT IPA

Thanks for that. I am just trying to get together as many facts as possible. I dont have any paperwork for anything, statements etc call it burying my head in the sand. What will the OR think of that? I am trying to hold onto my car for as long as poss as I need it for work but people keep calling to the house to repossess it. It is in HP and I ave missed 5 payments. It is worth 4,000 but owe about 9,000, so I know I cant keep that after BR, what a mess. A friend of mine has an old car and said I can use that and just pay the insurance, would that be acceptable and would I have to tell the OR. thank you

You would have to tell the OR if you have access to another car but the OR wouldn't be able to take this car if it isn't owned by you.
